After comparing Majora’s Mask on both XL and regular, I noticed the XL had more vibrant colors while the regular had more accurate colors. This scenario reminds me of the whole PSVita 1000 VS 2000. You can take it with a grain of salt on how you feel about it. Personally, I enjoyed the improvements the regular model offered.

If you own the XL you more than likely noticed its a pain to press that power button. On the regular, the power button sticks out more and has a nice click to let you know how much pressure to use. I honestly feel like the XL power button will wear out over time.

Eventually I found myself drawn to the game at its new reduced price and Im glad I did. The game starts off well enough with features I LOVE to see added to the mainline Animal Crossing games. Here you design houses and buildings to your hearts content, technically to your client's content but they're very easy to please when you have what they want.
